Welcome to District Governor Les Lee

We were delighted to welcome Rotary District 1260 District Governor Les Lee to our club meeting on October 13th.

DG Les presented Amwell President Eddy with a banner marking this year's Rotary International theme of "Make Dreams Real" before giving us a brief update on what Rotary is doing at the District level to provide support for the individual Rotary Clubs that make up Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland.

Pictured below are DG Les (Left) and Amwell President Eddy Rowland.

The 37th Annual Ware Fireworks Display

Once again, the Rotary Clubs of Amwell, Ware and Hertford Shires, all of whom meet in Ware, are putting on the Annual Ware Firework Display.

This is the 37th year this popular event has been held and this year it is with generous support from our major sponsor, GlaxoSmithKline and also the Hertfordshire Mercury. Barclays Bank are also supporting the event, and the Marriott Hanbury Manor has donated a free overnight stay for two as the prize in a lucky number draw.

The fireworks spectacular will take place on Sunday November 2nd at its usual location on the corner of High Oak Road and Kingsway. Gates open at 5.30pm and the display will be from 6.30pm.

Entry costs £4 for adults, £2 for children and £10 for a family of four.

Why not forget about the gloomy news we are constantly bombarded with and come and enjoy a great evening out! All profits from the event will go to charities supported by the three Rotary Clubs.
